WA Designer Collection was one of the shows that was high on my list because of the innovation and creativity that comes from these emerging designers, and most of the time their collections are far more interesting than the already established ones. And so the show did not disappoint, featuring designs by Monster Alphabets, Catini, Augustus, Anna Excell, Jonté, Daniella Caputi, Jessica Bratich, Jessica Martino, Yan Zion, Little Gracie, Jomay Cao, Lisa Marjanovich and Dyspnea, the show was a constant surprise with each designer delivering an entirely different concept and style. The highlight has to be Dyspnea, as the first model walk out in the plastic crystal encrusted crop top and dreamy swirl skirt the entire audience gasped in both admiration and need for these garments. The collection featured an eclectic mix of styles - that stems from the trios individual talents - however still managed to retain the edgy essence that is Dyspnea. Other favourites were Daniella Caputi for her delicate transparent layers, Jonte for her incredible laser cut-outs and digital prints and Augustus for the architectural and haute couture designs which reminded me of matryoshkas - which I adore. I hope you enjoy the show!
